For the first time in around 10 years I decided to buy an artificial Christmas tree (it’s one of those half ‘regular’ artificial trees and half PE trees with branches moulded from a real tree no less). I’m so desperate to get it up and have that nice Christmassy feeling in the house but we are somewhat hindered by the ongoing DIY in our living room. In order to feel some of that Christmas cheer and to try and put a smile on Glen’s face (who was off school sick with a winter sickness bug), I thought that maybe we should just put it up in the kitchen so set about it with my trusty little helpers but quickly realised that if I actually finish putting it up it will never fit through the door to the living room. So now we are sitting, squashed against the dining table, with a tree whose branches are still stuck in their non fluffed up state. Merry Christmas indeed.
I am sure it will look much better than this and live out its artificial tree fantasies when it gets moved room and hopefully that won’t be too much longer, at least by Christmas with any luck.
