Project 365 – Day 240 – 28th August 2013

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

This beautiful little Swift flew into our kitchen door twice last night, we were hoping it would fly away again and tried leaving some seeds next to it but found it in the same place against the wall this morning. After doing some research and realising that swifts don’t actually eat seeds and can’t take off from the ground because their legs are too short, we gave it a wee drink of water, let it have some rest and then took it up to the bathroom window, Iain held it in his hand and helped it to get it wings flapping. All of a sudden it just took off! He was like a proud daddy bird, bless.
