Project 365 – Day 231 – 19th August 2013

With it being the last day of the school holidays here today we wanted to do something a little special before Glen starts school and Ava starts at pre-school, so we raided the piggy bank and took a trip to South Queensferry and (after having some chips) took the Forth Belle ferry (you can also go on the Maid of the Forth) to Inchcolm Island. For your money you don’t just get a boat trip you get an educational tour of the Forth Estuary (I know I’m getting old now as I actually enjoyed it), the bridges and you get to see some seals too. The boat’s captain even makes sure to slow down so that everyone can get a look at them. The island itself has a lot of history and was used in both world wars and even has an abbey on it.
